Modarelli Cocozza Maryland Promise Scholarship

Paula Modarelli Cocozza '92 and Keith Cocozza established the Modarelli Cocozza Maryland Promise Scholarship in December 2018 to support need-based scholarships for undergraduate students under the auspices of the Clark Challenge for the Maryland Promise Program. Scholarship recipients will be residents of the state of Maryland or the District of Columbia, with preference for students in the Philip Merrill College of Journalism.

Paula graduated from the university's Merrill College of Journalism in 1992 and went on to have a very successful career as a television news producer. Keith graduated from Providence College and had a career in politics before transitioning into media. A combination of altruism and school pride have led the Cocozzas to give back to the colleges that helped put them on the road to success. They strongly believe that every person who is willing to commit to earning a college education should be able to go to school. With this fund, they are excited to help the next generation of journalists work toward their own dreams of succeeding in the fast-paced world of media
